On behalf of the Brothers of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. Rho Tau Chapter, welcome and thank you for visiting the official website. Rho Tau’s chapter motto is "Omega Men Building Valuable Friendships". On November 17, 1911, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. was founded. It was founded on the basis of Friendship by three undergraduates and one graduate advisor, to form a resilient life bond. Their mission was to find other men of like mind and ideals and most importantly men who possessed outstanding leadership qualities. To that end, Rho Tau’s aim is to uphold our founder’s vision by building Friendships, partnerships and taking the lead to uplift our communities.
Rho Tau is a part of the “Talented Tenth District”, which includes the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Rho Tau's chapter history dates back to 1961 in Evanston, Illinois. Later making its way north to Lake County Illinois, where we are currently located. Nicknamed the "Six Flags Great America Ques," our chapter consists of college graduates whom are professionals which work and live in Lake County, Illinois and Kenosha County, Wisconsin areas.
Our chapter initiatives include: Our Scholarship Fundraisers; Founders Banquet; Omega Golf Outing; Local Talent Hunt event for performing arts high school students; Dr. Charles Drew Blood Drive. Our Social Action Projects consist of: Mentoring program, Assault on Literacy, Adopt-a -high way clean up, Food pantry, Toy & clothing drive, Reclamation of inactive brothers and Retention of active brothers.
